I have noticed something that I think is very significant and don't believe was mentioned on the show at all (at least I can't remember it being mentioned). Seems that after "The Debt", anytime Deeks pulls out his handgun, it is NOT his beloved Beretta 92FS. If you go back and watch any episode from Season 2 that has Deeks pulling out his gun, and then compare that gun with what he seems to be packing the last half of Season 3, it is not the same. Now, for a LAPD detective to give up his LAPD issued handgun and start using a totally unfamiliar weapon like the NCIS issued SIG, that seems to be a big deal. The only reason why I mention this is weapons are not swapped out on a whim. Both weapons don't have the same characteristics. Different weight, size, how they fire, ect... Seems like he would have to start becoming more familiar with this new weapon when his old one feels more familiar. I just wonder if this is a subtle hint that maybe he might be heading toward being an NCIS agent sooner rather than later.
I may be way off here or making a mountain out of a mole hill but wanted to see if anyone on this forum noticed it too?

Join NCIS or stay with LAPD... Not sure if I feel strongly about one scenerio over the other. Keeping Deeks with LAPD gives the writers a lot of options for storylines. They can always bring in prior LAPD cases that he worked before joing Hetty's rogue band of Avengers as a basis for an episode or he ends up being recalled for other cases (aka Human Traffic S2 E1) with the crew possibly assisting him. Or he joins NCIS full time and leaves that part of his career behind. If that is the case, then I see him having to do a lot of extra work to get up to speed as an agent. I do have this scenario in my mind that he finally joins NCIS and is sent to FLETC training for a peroid of time. Then we see a Deeks centered crossover with the mothership NCIS in DC. (Well I guy can dream, can't he?). I would love to see Deeks working a case with Gibb's crew. I think Deek and Dinozzo paired up on the same episode would be a writer's dream! I guess we'll just have to wait until the Shane decides to make a decision about Deeks future. Unfortunately, that might take a few seasons...
